A man will spend 15 years for his role in the death of Frank Williams in Portland in 2008.
Shane Hall was arrested last year and charged with the murder of 37-year-old Frank Williams.
On Aug. 16, 2008, Williams walked to the Kennedy Park area of Portland, where a fight took place between Williams and a group of men.
Williams was chased to the center of the Fox Street soccer field, where he was beaten and stabbed multiple times. He later died from his injuries.
Williams was the father of three children, according to the Portland Press Herald.
Hall pleaded guilty to manslaughter after prosecutors agreed to dismiss a murder charge. He was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years with all but 15 years suspended, which means he will serve 15 years in prison, followed by four years of probation.
According to the Press Herald, Hall will serve that sentence concurrently with a 15-year sentence he was given for kidnapping a woman in Rockland in 2016.
Khang Tran was also originally charged with Williams’ murder. However, prosecutors withdrew the murder indictment against him because he was a minor when the crime happened. Tran was 15 years old in 2008 when Williams was killed.
