A girl who was stabbed by a fellow pupil at a school in West Wales felt “angry and scared”, a jury has heard.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said the defendant was “screaming at her”, called her name and said “I’m going to f****** kill you”.

The teenage defendant, who also cannot be named due to her age, denies the attempted murders of the girl and two teachers at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman – also known as Amman Valley School.

She has admitted wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article on school grounds, but faces trial on three counts of attempted murder.

Swansea Crown Court heard the defendant brought her father’s fishing “multi-tool” to school without permission on 24 April last year, having left the family home before he had a chance to check her bag.

Teachers Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin were injured during the incident in an outdoor area outside the lower school hall.

The defendant also went on to stab a fellow pupil in another part of the school in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.

On the second day of the trial, the court heard the girl “[didn’t] really know [the defendant] well”.

“She was friends with some of my friends, but I didn’t really know her name or anything like that,” the pupil added in a recorded police interview played to the jury.

Asked what she thought during the attack, she said: “I didn’t know what to think. My brain was, like, everywhere.”

When she was taken to the nurse’s office and took off her jumper, the girl saw that “there was blood all down [her] shirt”.

She told police she’d had a “petty school girl argument” with the defendant “a couple of months ago”, but said they were “fine” the day after it.

The court previously heard that Mrs Elias and Mrs Hopkin, who attempted to restrain the defendant, “received significant and serious injuries”.

Mrs Hopkin was the most seriously injured of the two, with “four stab wounds”, and she was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
