ORONO – Celebrating 10 years of supporting Maine students’ pursuit of higher education, University Credit Union is pleased to announce applications are now open for the 2025 UCU Scholarship Program: https://www.ucumaine.com/scholarship/.
Since launching the UCU Scholarship in 2016, UCU has awarded $64,000 in scholarships to students pursuing higher education across the University of Maine System and Maine Maritime Academy.
This year, UCU will continue its commitment to educational advancement by awarding a total of $9,000 in scholarships, $1,000 to nine students; eight undergraduate students attending University of Maine System campuses and Maine Maritime Academy, as well as one graduate or professional student furthering their education within the University of Maine System or Maine Maritime Academy.
“For a decade now, the UCU Scholarship has been helping Maine students build a foundation for their financial future and demonstrate how UCU is Here for U,” stated Renee Ouellette, UCU’s president and CEO. “10 years in, we have seen firsthand just how much education can change lives for the better. We are honored to have a small role in helping students across Maine have the opportunity to pursue their passion.”
To be considered for the UCU Scholarship, applicants must be UCU members with a primary account in good standing by May 1. They must also be entering the fall 2025 semester as a student at a University of Maine System institution or Maine Maritime Academy.
