Thank you for the excellent editorial “A Great Day for America” in Tuesday’s paper. I agree wholeheartedly with the Bangor Daily News editorial board’s expression of thanksgiving for the peaceful transition from the Biden administration to the Trump administration. And I agree with the board’s expressions of what will truly make America great again by focusing on issues that aspire to true greatness, and not religiously or politically narrow definitions of what greatness is.
I echo the editorial board’s hope that the “great day” doesn’t “become a miserable four years for personal liberty” for many of those who are marginalized.
