A 74-year-old Ellsworth man was hit by a car and killed on Bangor Road in Ellsworth Friday night.
According to the Ellsworth police department, the accident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Police said James Card was in the road’s southbound lane, apparently picking up tools that had fallen from his vehicle, which was parked at the corner of Bangor and Shore roads.
That’s when a 2017 Toyota Camry driven by Robert Tallent, 68, of Surry, struck Card, according to a news release from Ellsworth police. Tallent was alone in his vehicle at the time of the crash. He wasn’t injured, said police.
The crash remains under investigation.
