A Bangor man allegedly shared videos of young children being sexually abused.
Michael Keilty, 42, has been charged with possession of sexually explicit material, according to Bangor police Detective Lt. Brent Beaulieu.
Beaulieu said Thursday that his department got a tip from the Maine State Police that sexually explicit material was being shared from Keilty’s residence.
Officers executed a search warrant there on Jan. 17, seizing several digital media items. A subsequent examination turned up videos depicting children under age 12 being sexually abused, according to Beaulieu.
Keilty was arrested Wednesday.
He is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
No additional information was immediately available.
