All schools in Calais closed Friday because of illness.
The Calais School Department said a “significant amount of illness” has “negatively impacted” student and staff attendance.
In response, administrators decided to close all of the district’s schools for Friday.
“We kindly ask you take advantage of this day to take care of our students’ and staff wellness,” school officials said.
