• GOP leaders are staring down two bad options to solve President-elect Donald Trump’s debt-limit problem, after failing to execute his demand to lift the federal borrowing cap in the last government funding bill, Jennifer Scholtes reports.

• In a set of statements, Trump mourned the loss of former President Jimmy Carter, who died Sunday at 100. “While I strongly disagreed with him philosophically and politically, I also realized that he truly loved and respected our Country, and all it stands for,” Trump said on Truth Social.
