Boxing star Floyd Mayweather has denied being punched after videos appeared to show him being confronted by an angry crowd in London.

The former US boxer and fight promoter was apparently escorted away by security in the capital’s jewellery quarter as several men jostled around him.

In the videos, the 47-year-old, who was wearing a bright green Louis Vuitton jacket and camouflage combat trousers, is bundled into the back of a black 4×4 before it drives away.

Mayweather is heard to say “I’ll get these motherf*****s” before being led into the car. “You better go,” another man is heard shouting.

Afterwards, Mayweather said he “wasn’t punched or touched in any way” despite the commotion.

In a post on social media, he said the footage showed his security “doing their job to keep things under control”.

Mayweather, who was once one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, said he was in the UK for a “quick 48-hour stop to do some shopping”.

The former boxer, known as Money, added he was “perfectly fine” after the videos were shared online.

The Metropolitan Police said officers did not attend the confrontation at Hatton Garden and have not received any associated allegations.

‘There’s no truth to the rumours’

In an Instagram post, Mayweather said: “Let me set the record straight… there’s no truth to the rumours going around. I wasn’t punched or touched in any way.

“What you’re seeing is just my security doing their job to keep things under control.

“I was in the UK for a quick 48-hour stop to do some shopping, and unfortunately, people let jealousy and negativity fuel false stories.

“I’m perfectly fine, and there’s really nothing more to it.”
