A 17-year-old died Monday morning after he crashed 50 feet down an embankment in Auburn.
The teen was driving a 2019 Subaru Impreza north on Turner Road about 7:04 a.m. when he veered off the right side of the road and went down an embankment, according to the Auburn Police Department.
He died at the scene, police said midday Monday.
The crash remains under investigation, but police believe speed and distraction contributed to it.
The victim isn’t being identified at this time.
No additional information was immediately available.
