Applications now open for Machias Savings Bank’s Workforce Development Grant

MACHIAS — Machias Savings Bank is now accepting applications for its new Workforce Development Grant, dedicated to funding projects that enhance and expand Maine’s workforce capabilities. This grant provides a total of $50,000, awarded in three amounts of $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000, to support projects that focus on upskilling, reskilling, and career readiness resources throughout the state.

The application period for the Workforce Development Grant closes on Nov. 22. Eligible applicants include 501(c)3 organizations, educational institutions, and municipalities committed to building a stronger workforce in Maine. Priority consideration will be given to projects that promote career pathways, vocational training, and accessible job opportunities for Maine residents. Selected recipients will be notified by phone by Dec. 16.

“Our Workforce Development Grant is an investment in Maine’s future workforce and economic success,” said Melissa Denbow, VP, community impact manager. “By supporting programs that enhance job skills and thus increase wages, we are not only aiding individual growth but also contributing to the resilience and prosperity of Maine communities.”

Machias Savings Bank seeks to bolster Maine’s workforce by funding impactful projects that address critical workforce needs. Past Machias Savings Bank grants have funded diverse programs, including mentorship and training initiatives that equip individuals with essential job skills and entrepreneurship education.
