In May 2024, Nikki Haley said that she would be voting for Donald Trump. This was after ending her campaign during which she was saying that Trump was not fit for office. In July, Sen. Susan Collins said she was still supporting Nikki Haley and would write in Haley in the presidential election.
I agree that Nikki Haley would have been a good choice for the Republican Party if she had won the Republican nomination. But she did not. I believe that she has greatly diminished her credibility and integrity by now saying she will vote for Trump.
It is disturbing to me that Susan Collins has said that she will write in Haley’s name even after knowing that Haley is supporting Trump. In my opinion Collins is voting for Nikki Haley, a person who can’t stand up for what she believes in and has instead decided to vote for Trump who has been twice impeached, been found guilty of multiple felony counts, liable for sexual abuse, and has been accused of other crimes.
