A Readfield man died Tuesday evening after he was run over by a pickup truck.
Andrews Tolman, 76, was leaving the Readfield Historical Society about 6:11 p.m. when he tripped and fell while crossing Main Street, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The driver of a 2021 Ram 5500 didn’t see Tolman lying in the road and struck and killed him, Moss said Wednesday afternoon.
Moss said that speed and alcohol aren’t factors in the crash.
The death remains under investigation.
