It came as news to fans — and Sabrina Carpenter herself — that more secret messages would soon appear on the soles of her Short and Sweet Tour heels.
Carpenter, 25, and her stylist, Jared Ellner, opened up to Vogue about the costumes she wears onstage in a YouTube video posted on Monday, October 21. While examining her outfits, Carpenter then picked up a pair of her “infamous” heels, which feature “mother” written on the ball of one foot and “f—er” written on the other, referencing lyrics from her hit “Please Please Please.”
“I will be wearing these, and by the way, every night,” she told Ellner with a laugh
To her surprise, he replied; “We actually have more [shoes with] different words.”

Carpenter, who had no idea that more phrases were being printed on the bottoms of her heels, was visibly giddy and responded, “We do? Wait, what else do we have?”
“We’ll find out!” Ellner teased Carpenter, who appeared shocked.
Once the new shoe news had set in, Carpenter went on to gush over her signature custom Victoria’s Secret corsets, which she opens every show in. “The corseted outfits are a little bit harder to dance in because there’s a stiffness to it, but my waist is non-existent, so we love her,” she quipped.
The singer never fails to wow Us with her coquettish costumes, ranging from flirty Victoria’s Secret babydoll dresses (inspired by Brigitte Bardot and Grease) to skintight Patou catsuits and spangly Ludovic de Saint Sernin sequined sets (which weigh far more than you may suspect!).
“I remember being so excited when I was like, ‘I’m gonna get to wear a babydoll on stage?’ Because it feels like pajamas. It’s so comfortable,” Carpenter said of her favorite lingerie look. “When I throw that on over the corset, I have no insecurities, no thoughts about anything, because I’m just so comfortable in those dresses.”
As for her Abba-esque Ludovic de Saint Sernin halter top and maxi skirt, Carpenter noted that she “really wanted” to do a mini skirt reveal underneath the floor-length silhouette — but it needed to happen quickly after strutting out on stage. “I was like, ‘There ain’t no way I can sing more than one song in this long skirt because it’s so damn heavy,” she told Vogue.

Ellner agreed: “No one knows this, they are so heavy.”
Despite the added to her costumes, all of Carpenter’s outfit changes happen in “under two minutes” flat. Swift and statement-making, indeed.
