I write to recommend Waldo County vote for Sen. Chip Curry to continue as Waldo County’s Senator in the Maine Legislature. I’ve known Chip for many years. He knows all of Waldo County and not just Belfast. Waldo County is his decades-long home. He knows our local issues as a working person, a teacher, a husband and father, and a long serving and deeply involved community member.
I will give you one example of what he’s willing to do for all of Waldo County and Maine. When the University of Maine closed the Hutchinson Center, Curry introduced a bill that would have deeded the center to Belfast and the midcoast area. The bill was a tough sell when it went to debate. When I listened as our senator spoke to his fellow senators about the value the Hutchinson Center brought to Waldo County and our midcoast area I heard passion, intelligence, a deep concern and respect for the value of education and a recognition of all that our towns and area had invested in the Hutchinson Center.
Senator Curry was eloquent and fought for us as few local politicians have done. Chip deserves our support and I have every confidence he will represent all of us when reelected.
