Strong winds and heavy rain are forecast tonight and Friday morning as Storm Lilian hits parts of the UK.
Gusts will widely be in the 50-60mph range tomorrow and could exceed 75mph in places, according to the Met Office.
The wind warning covers virtually all of northern England, including Yorkshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Tyneside and Cumbria.

The north coast of Wales, including Anglesey, is also under the yellow alert, as is a small part of southwest Scotland near Dumfries.
There could be damage to buildings, travel disruption, injuries from flying debris and danger to life from large waves, said the UK forecaster.
Friday’s wind alert is in force from 5am to 11am.

Rain warnings have also been issued for Scotland – from 9pm on Thursday to 9am on Friday – covering the Dumfries and Galloway area and the coast between Dundee and Aberdeen.
About 5cm is possible over high ground, with 2-3cm falling quite widely, according to the Met Office.
It said there could also be spray and flooding on the roads, as well as travel problems and some cases of flooded properties.

Storm Lilian is the first named storm since April and the fifth of 2024.
It comes after northern England and large parts of Scotland endured more heavy rain and windy conditions on Wednesday.
The storm could dampen some people’s plans for the bank holiday, with the RAC estimating 3.2 million leisure trips by car on Friday and 19.2 million over the three days.
