LOVELL — The Charlotte Hobbs Library Speaker Series welcomes author Leigh Hayes and illustrator Solana Ward on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. They will discuss their book “The Giant’s Shower” and create fairy houses with all who attend. You and your children will delight in the story and its colorful and whimsical illustrations.
Hayes is a writer, Maine Naturalist, and retired education coordinator for Greater Lovell Land Trust. She hikes frequently in Maine and New Hampshire, and those adventures inspired this story. She feels the fairies’ magic whenever she’s among moss-covered ground and tree stumps. Ward is an artist and recent high school graduate.
