A Madison man died Wednesday in a crash in Solon.
Rahaheem Friend, 33, was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry east on South Solon Road, near Merrill Lane about 7 a.m. when he veered to the right, hitting several mailboxes before crashing into a large tree, according to the Waterville Morning Sentinel.
Friend and his passenger, 38-year-old Nicholas Foss of Madison, weren’t wearing seatbelts, the Sentinel reported.
Foss died at the scene.
Friend was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan before being sent to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was treated for a broken femur and ankle, the newspaper reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
