Tomcraft, the German DJ best known for his 2002 hit Loneliness, has died aged 49.
The family of Thomas Bruckner shared the news on his official social media pages, writing: “With a heavy heart, we need to inform you that yesterday our beloved father and husband has passed away.
“We’ll forever carry you in our hearts and love you until we’re reunited again.”
They did not disclose a cause of death.
Producers and DJs soon flooded the comments with tributes.
Among them was Italian DJ Benny Benassi, who said: “I’m so sorry. We were Ministry of Sound artists in the same period. Loneliness it was my first remix after Satisfaction was released.”
On X, Judge Jules posted a photo of the pair together with the caption: “Lovely guy, who made one of the greatest records ever.”
German DJ Westbam said they shared a stage just two weeks ago, writing: I sat there and listened from beginning to end, which I hardly ever do. He sounded great and very much like unmistakably him. It might have been his very last set.”

Loneliness was released in Germany in September 2002 and in the UK in April 2003, reaching number one in the UK charts.
It featured on the soundtrack for Saltburn last year.
Tomcraft was also known for his successful singles including Prosac, Overdose and The Mission.
He still regularly performed and was due to take part in Berlin’s Rave The Planet Parade next month.
