Hot and sunny weather Friday will give way to some beneficial rain on Saturday morning for Maine.

The weather will dry out Saturday evening and bring more hot sun on Sunday, with a heat wave expected in many areas next week.

Saturday will start out wet, especially in southern Maine and along the coast.

Showers and downpours are likely through the morning with drier conditions and a few lingering showers for the afternoon. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s.

Sunday will be hot and sunny once again, and humidity will be a touch lower.

Highs will range from the upper 80s at the coast to around 90 inland, beginning a heat wave for inland areas.

Monday will bring the very high humidity levels back by the afternoon.

It will be another hot one in the upper 80s or low 90s, and an inland PM storm will be possible.

Tuesday will also be a scorcher. Highs will be in the low 90s, and it will be very humid. We’ll see the chance for showers and storms during the afternoon, and some could potentially be strong.

Wednesday will likely be the final day of high heat and humidity next week. Highs will be in the low or even mid 90s with a chance for strong storms heading into the afternoon and evening.

A cold front moves through Wednesday night, and much drier air finally arrives for Thursday. Highs will drop into the lower 80s, and it will feel much more refreshing.
