Machias Savings Bank welcomed six new corporators at its annual meeting at the end of May, where they were voted on and approved by the more than 150 officers, directors, and corporators in attendance.

The following individuals have joined the bank as corporators:

Doug Abbott is senior vice president and chief financial officer at The Jackson Laboratory, where he provides strategic leadership, direction, and management for all financial and risk management activities. Previously, he served in several senior finance leadership roles at WEX, Inc., held finance leadership roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Elmet Technologies, and practiced public accounting at Ernst & Young in their Kansas City office, where he managed several large clients, including Berkshire Hathaway and AMC Entertainment. He is a resident of Falmouth.

Andy Odeen is president and owner of Freshwater Stone & Brickwork. He has spent 15 years managing large multinational retirement plans for Vanguard and Fidelity Investments and serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Down East Family YMCA. He lives in Orland.

Troy Pearl launched a siding and roofing business at the age of 23 that eventually developed into a successful renovation company. In 2014, Pearl launched Renewal by Andersen of Greater Maine, and later he and his wife Jess developed the Great Home Expo. He lives in Charleston.

Marcus Sibley is a fourth-generation business owner and president of Sibley & Sons Construction, Inc. He has developed a strong team committed to transporting goods across the United States and Canada through Sibley Transportation, Inc. and Sibley Warehouse, LLC. He is a resident of Bangor.

Jonathan Smith is President and Co-Owner of Great Falls Construction with his wife Cindy, managing large and small commercial and residential construction projects throughout Maine and employing over 70 team members, including 4 of their 5 children. They have also developed and managed their own Village Center projects in local towns including Gorham, Windham, Auburn, and Berwick. He has served on numerous school committees, business groups, and fundraising efforts and is an active member of multiple professional construction and real estate groups in Maine. He lives in Gorham.

Briana Warner is CEO of Atlantic Sea Farms, where she and her team have forged a new path for seaweed aquaculture in the US by working with fishermen to grow kelp as a climate change adaptation strategy. Atlantic Sea Farms and its partner farmers now account for the majority of the line-grown kelp in the US and are proving that a model that puts farmers, planet, and people first can drive an entirely new way of producing food. Warner followed a mission-driven path that brought her to kelp, including serving several tours as a diplomat in the US Foreign Service, starting and selling a wholesale bakery focused on employing newly resettled refugees, and creating the first Economic Development programming suite at the Maine-based Island Institute. She is a resident of Biddeford.

“As a bank, we’re fortunate to benefit from partnerships with so many Mainers who share our belief that when one of us succeeds, we all do,” said Larry Barker, CEO of Machias Savings Bank. “We are excited to welcome these individuals and are grateful that they’re willing to lend their expertise as we work together to move Maine forward.”
