Cobscook Friends (Quaker) Meeting, located in Whiting, is joining other congregations and faith traditions in advocating for peace in Israel and Palestine.
Atrocities have been committed by both Hamas and the Israeli government. People are suffering. Resources are being used for the destruction of all forms of life. The ongoing fighting will only ensure one thing, that the unimaginable losses will continue. We support an immediate cease-fire and negotiations for a way forward in which systemic injustices are addressed and the rights of all people are honored.
Cobscook Friends Meeting holds these ideas up for examination and reflection. In this, we echo the many calls for an end to the violence and destruction in Palestine and Israel.
