UScellular extending support for ACP customers

UScellular is supporting its customers who have the Affordable Connectivity Program benefit with a monthly credit to help ensure they can stay connected.

ACP is a Federal Communications Commission benefit program that helps households afford the broadband they need to connect to education, careers, family, and friends. It has provided a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Unfortunately for millions of well-deserving Americans, Congress has not approved a budget to continue the program, and April is the last fully funded month.

Starting in May, UScellular is providing a $12 credit every month for 12 months on current ACP customers’ bills to help offset the impending end of the program.

“At UScellular, our mission is to connect people to what matters most,” said Brandi McCune, director of sales and operations for UScellular in New England. “We have many customers who rely on the ACP benefit every month, and we are committed to providing them the best and most affordable mobile and home internet service for their needs.”

The credit can be combined with other discounts customers may be eligible for. Customers are encouraged to review UScellular’s website for other discount options, including Lifeline, military, and various partner or employee discounts.

Customers are also encouraged to contact or visit their local UScellular store for an account review to see if other plans are a better fit for their needs, including unlimited mobile plans that start at $29.99 per month and Home Internet plansfor $34.99 when bundled with a mobile line. And for anyone who is passionate about keeping the ACP program, we recommend sending an email to Congress by clicking HERE at https://p2a.co/VHeG0SM.

Additionally, UScellular introduced its After School Access Project in 2021 to provide internet access to help bridge the digital divide for students who lack reliable internet access outside the classroom. To date, the company has donated more than $23 million in hotspots and service to help youth connect to reliable internet. Eligible non-profits are encouraged to apply at afterschoolaccessproject.com.
