SHERMAN, Maine – A New Hampshire man was arrested on multiple felony drug charges Tuesday afternoon, following a traffic stop on I-95 in Sherman.
Timothy Pinkham, 34, of Somersworth, NH was charged with five felony counts of possession and trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamines and driving without a license. His bail is set at $75,000 cash.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Aroostook County Task Force got information about a vehicle traveling from Massachusetts to the County with illegal narcotics, according to state police.
With assistance from Maine State Police, the vehicle that Pinkham was driving was located on I-95 North and agents stopped the vehicle.
Pinkham tried to get rid of the suspected fentanyl when he was stopped, according to police. When agents searched the vehicle, they discovered over 1,300 grams (2.8 pounds) of methamphetamine and over 3.5 grams of fentanyl, police said.
There was also a locked box in the vehicle and after getting a search warrant, police said there was an additional 441 grams of methamphetamine, bringing the total amount seized to over 3.8 pounds. The street value of the methamphetamine seized is over $150,000, police said.
Pinkham was taken to the Aroostook County Jail.
