A man has been charged after police received multiple calls about a van reportedly being driven into oncoming traffic before “purposefully” reversing into a car.
Police Scotland said it was alerted to the alleged dangerous driving on the A9 at Kessock Bridge, Inverness, at around 6.50pm on Wednesday.
The force said it received several calls about a van driving on the wrong side of the dual carriageway.
It was then reportedly later seen to “purposefully reverse” into a white Renault Clio.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
Officers attended and closed the road as a precaution.
A 49-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Thursday.

The van has been described as a white Man box van with grey side curtains, with officers appealing for those with dashcam footage to come forward.

Sergeant Douglas Scott said: “We’d like to thank all the motorists that got in touch with us last night and informed us about the ongoing incident.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we would be keen to review any dashcam footage that may have captured the white van between 6.40pm and 7.15pm on Wednesday evening.”
