Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Inverclyde believe it was a targeted attack as the hunt for the killer continues.
Jack Trainner was found seriously injured on Brookfield Road, Port Glasgow, at around 9.05pm on Saturday 27 April.
Emergency crews attended, but the 27-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Monday, Police Scotland issued a fresh appeal and is urging all those with information to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Graham McCreadie said: “Our thoughts remain with Jack’s family.
“This is a very difficult time for them and I want to reassure them and the wider community that our murder inquiry is progressing and we are following a number of lines of investigation.
“Enquiries so far indicate that this was a targeted attack.”
Officers are continuing to carry out door-to-door enquiries and have been viewing a “large amount” of CCTV from in and around the area.

Those who witnessed anything in the Brookfield Road area between 6pm and 11pm on the night of the attack are being urged to contact police, as well as those with any private CCTV or dashcam footage that could help solve the case.
An online portal has been set up to allow members of the public to submit information directly to the inquiry team.

DCI McCreadie added: “Even the slightest bit of information could help with our enquiries.
“The local community have been keen to assist, and we would like to reassure them that officers remain in the area and anyone with concerns should speak to them.”
